  • Nanga Parbat tested us emotionally. Following the death of Pawel Kopec and the rescue mission for Asif Bhatti, I temporarily forgot about being the first Pakistani woman to reach the summit of Nanga Parbat. It was my favorite climb, as I felt more confident, skillful, and stronger than ever before, but tragedy changed everything. We began our summit push on the 29th June and rested at Camp 1. On the 30th June, we proceeded to Camp 2, and on July 1st, we reached Camp 3. After a few hours of rest, we set off for the summit on July 1st and successfully reached it on the morning of July 2nd. We accomplished a remarkable feat by climbing 2000 meters in elevation within 24 hours. I received the shocking news about Pawel's passing and learned that Asif Bhatti was suffering from snow blindness, as soon as I returned to basecamp on 3rd July. I would like to express my gratitude to the Karakorum Expedition rope fixing team for fixing the route up to Camp 3, as well as to the Elite Expedition sherpas for re-fixing the route beyond Camp 3. Additionally, I am immensely thankful to Ningma Sherpa for guiding me to the top of Nanga Parbat in style. Thank you so much @imaginenepal and Lela Peak for looking after us during the expedition. Thank you so much @bard_foundation for always having my back. Shukriya Pakistan Army
